Mauricio Balter

Conservative Judaism leader (born 1957)

Mauricio Balter, born in 1957, is a prominent leader in the Conservative Judaism movement. He serves as the executive director of Masorti Olami, the global umbrella organization for the Masorti/Conservative Judaism Movement, as well as MERCAZ Olami, the movement's Zionist and political arm. Through his role, Balter represents the interests of the Masorti/Conservative Movement in various capacities.

Rabbi Balter holds multiple leadership positions, including as a director of the Jewish National Fund, where he sits on the Education and Community Committee and the Resource Development Committee. He is also an executive member of the World Zionist Organization and a member of the board of governors for several organizations, including KKL-JNF, Keren HaYesod, and the Jewish Agency for Israel. Additionally, he has founded initiatives such as the Forum for Jewish Renewal in the Negev and the Negev Interfaith Initiative Dialogue, further demonstrating his commitment to promoting Jewish values and interfaith understanding.
