Fred Düren
German actor (1928–2015)
Fred Düren was a German actor born in 1928, who primarily worked in the film industry. His professional career was based in East Germany, where he established himself as a stage, film, and television actor. During his time in East Germany, Düren appeared in several notable films produced by DEFA, a state-owned film studio. One of his notable roles was in the 1964 historical adventure film "Follow Me, Scoundrels".
Düren's personal life took a significant turn in 1988 when he converted to Judaism. Following his conversion, he decided to settle in Israel, marking a new chapter in his life. Düren was married to actress Irmgard Düren. He passed away in 2015, at the age of 87, in Israel, bringing an end to a long and eventful life that spanned multiple careers and continents.
