Elizabeth Schwartz is a vocalist from the United States, born in 1964. Her musical focus lies in klezmer, a genre deeply rooted in traditional Jewish culture, as well as the Romanian Yiddish dialect. This specialization has led her to collaborate with a diverse range of musicians, bridging the jazz and folk music spheres. Notable among her collaborations are performances and recordings with esteemed artists such as Muzsikas, Damian Draghici, Alicia Svigals, Salman Ahmad, and Marta Sebestyen, showcasing her versatility and depth in musical expression.
Schwartz's work extends beyond traditional music releases, as she has been featured in several documentary films. Radu Gabrea, a Romanian filmmaker, has highlighted her in multiple projects, including "Goldfadn's Legacy," "Romania, Romania," and notably, "Searching for Schwartz" in 2007, a documentary that places her at its center.
