Elijah Mizrachi

Elijah Mizrachi was a prominent figure in the realm of Jewish scholarship, renowned as a Talmudist and posek, or authority on Halakha. His expertise extended beyond the realm of religious law, as he was also a skilled mathematician. Although his work in astronomy is noted, it is his contributions to the field of Talmudic studies that have had the most lasting impact.

Mizrachi's most notable work is the Sefer ha-Mizrachi, a comprehensive supercommentary on Rashi's commentary on the Torah.
