Zachary Lipton

Zachary Lipton is an American researcher with a diverse background in machine learning and music. Born in New Rochelle, New York, he has established himself as a prominent figure in his field, currently holding the positions of Chief Technology Officer and Chief Scientific Officer at Abridge. In addition to his work at Abridge, Lipton is also an associate professor of Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University, where he leads the Approximately Correct Machine Intelligence (ACMI) lab.
Lipton's academic journey began with his undergraduate studies at Columbia University, which laid the foundation for his future pursuits. He later earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego. Apart from his accomplishments in the field of machine learning, Lipton is also a skilled jazz saxophonist. His connection to music extends to his family, as he is the grandson of Issachar Miron, the composer of the popular song "Tzena, Tzena, Tzena".
