Magda Spiegel

Magda Spiegel was a German opera singer, specifically a contralto, who was active in the music field during the early 20th century. Born in 1887, she pursued a career in opera, becoming a member of the esteemed Frankfurt Opera ensemble. As a contralto, Spiegel's vocal range and talent allowed her to perform a variety of roles, contributing to the rich cultural landscape of Frankfurt's opera scene.

Tragically, Spiegel's life was cut short during World War II. She was murdered in the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1944, a victim of the brutal persecution that occurred during this period. Spiegel's fate was shared by her colleague, baritone Richard Breitenfeld, who was also a member of the Frankfurt Opera and suffered the same tragic end.
