Isaac Luria

Isaac Luria was a prominent figure in Jewish mysticism, active in the 16th century. Born around 1534, he became a respected rabbi and kabbalist in the community of Safed, located in the Galilee region of what is now Israel. During his lifetime, Luria developed a significant following and his teachings had a profound impact on the Jewish mystical tradition.

Luria's contributions to Kabbalah are still widely recognized today, with his teachings referred to as Lurianic Kabbalah. He is often regarded as the father of contemporary Kabbalah, indicating the enduring influence of his ideas on the development of Jewish mysticism. Although his life was cut short when he died in 1572, Luria's legacy continues to be felt in Jewish religious circles, where he is revered as Ha'ari, Ha'ari Hakadosh, or Arizal.
