Erica Lippitz

Erica Lippitz is a musician who has made a significant contribution to the field of Jewish music. She is also known as Erica Jan Lippitz, or Riki Lippitz, and has been recognized for her achievements in the context of Conservative Judaism.

In 1987, Lippitz, along with Marla Rosenfeld Barugel, achieved a milestone by becoming one of the first two female hazzans to be ordained in Conservative Judaism. This ordination marked an important step forward, occurring just two years after the first woman was ordained as a Conservative rabbi, and highlighting Lippitz's role as a trailblazer in her field.
