Abraham Hillel

Abraham Moshe Hillel was a prominent figure in Judaism, serving in various capacities as the Chief Rabbi of Baghdad. His tenure in this position spanned multiple periods, including 1884, 1886-1889, and 1911-1915. During his lifetime, which stretched from 1820 to 1920, Hillel gained valuable knowledge and insight under the guidance of esteemed Rabbi Abdallah Somekh.

As a pupil of Rabbi Abdallah Somekh, Abraham Moshe Hillel's educational foundation was rooted in traditional Jewish teachings. He went on to apply this knowledge in his role as Chief Rabbi, providing spiritual leadership to the community in Baghdad during his multiple terms in office.
